How to Earn Money Online Through Blog

In this post I am going to share my experience with you about writing blogs to earn money online. I will tell you the steps from beginning to the point where you start earning. Earning money online is easy by writing blog apart from any other means of online money.

So start blogging and start earning money through Google Adsense. Let me tell you more about Google Adsense. Google Adsense is the program run by Google Inc. which allows you to put the ads on your web page. So that whenever the user will click on those ads Google will pay you for the per click on those ads. Google earned about 22% of total revenue, through Google AdSense.

Create Your Blogger Account

If you are a learner then first of all you might think that What is blogger.

Blogger is a blog publishing service run by Google that allows user to post and host the content online. Generally, the blogs are hosted by Google have subdomain of blogspot.com. A user can have up to 100 blogs per account.

So in order to create you blogger account you should have the gmail account. Hope you already knows how to create gmail account. Once you get the gmail account open http://www.blogger.com and provide your username and password of gmail. Then it will ask you some additional information. Once you filled those additional information you can see the blogger dashboard.

On Blogger dashboard we have one option "New Blog". Just click on that you will get the following screen. In this screen you have to provide the "Title" and "Address" of the blog. The Title whatever you are giving will be the heading of your blog and the address will be the URL by which you can access you blog.

You can select the Template of your like for you blog. For example I have selected the first template for my blog.

Now click on "Create Blog" Button.

After creating a blog you dashboard will be appear like this.

Now click on the pencil icon to create a post inside your blog. So your blog can have multiple post.
Once you click on the pencil icon you will get following screen.

Here you can specify the title of the post and content will goes in the bigger block. You have many option to format your text and provide link etc. on top.

When you click on publish it will be published on the web. You can also Save or Preview or close the post.

Once you will publish your post you will see your screen like this.

Here you can see the option like "Edit", "View", "Share" and "Delete".

When you will click on "View option your post will be open in new window in non-editable mode like this.

So congrats you have created one post in blogger successfully.

Before starting your blog just think about the topics which you are going to choose for your blog. In choosing the topics for your blog you have to consider following facts:

You must consider public interest as well as your knowledge and expertise on that topics.
Always remember that your content in your blog is the king.
Always consider about your competitor on the web and deliver a quality, better, different and engaging content.
Determine the longevity of the topics. Means how long this topics will be in the market.

Publish your content to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn Page.

Once you write your blog and publish you might be interested in to posting the blog to your Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn profile or group or page.

If you want to do so, you have to use a third part tool call IFTTT.

go to IFTTT link http://www.ifttt.com and create your profile.

Now in IFTTT we have one option to create the Recipe.

Let see how we can create the recipe in IFTTT.

First of all you sign in into your IFTTT account and click on "Create a Recipe" option as shown below.

Now click on "this" as shown below.

Click on the Blogger icon as shown below.

In the below screen select the option "Any new post". So whenever you create any post on blogger, this trigger will be fired.

Now click on the "Create Trigger" button.

Now click on "that"

Now click on "Facebook" icon as shown below.

Now click on "Create a link post".

Now select linkURL as PostUrl and message as PostTitle and click on "Create Action".

Now click on "Create Recipe".

After this we can see the recipe on your IFTT dashboard as shown below.

Now whenever you create a post on your blogger account it will post the blogger post to your Facebook timeline.

In the same way you can create the trigger for LinkedIn and Twitter.

By default your blog will use the address or URL as yourblogname.blogspot.com. So what you can do is you can buy a domain name from website like Godaddy or Big Rock etc and redirect your blogger url to custom domain. Also you create one email id with professional look and then apply for Google Adsense.

But one question that you may think like is it necessary to buy a domain?

The answer is Not always. Sometimes you can get the Google Adsense account approved very easily. But some time it is too hard. So after 5-6 trial if still you are unable to get the approval then you can try this.

To do so you have to buy a custom domain name as per your wish from any website like Godaddy or Big Rock etc.

The domain name which you are buying should have good and meaningful name. Also try to get .Com domain instead of any domain.

Why .COM domain not others

Because there are several benefits of .com domain

Usually the user will type the name of your site and then press CTRL+ENTER.
Easy to remember
.COM is one of the oldest and known extension by the public.
Search engines like google, Bing etc emphasize on .COM domain.
You will get more traffic on .COM domain.

Apply a good template to your website

A good template on your blogger website can bring more traffic. The user will atrract by the good template and look and feel.

There are may free Blogger template available on Google. Just search and download the template in your local computer.

After downloading template you need to upload this template to Blogger. So login into your blogger account and open your posts. There you go to option "Template".

You will get the following screen.

In this screen you can see a button on top right corner "Backup/Restore". Click on this button.

Then you will get the following screen.

If you want to take the backup of the existing template, you can do that also by clicking on "Download Full Template" button else click on "Browse" Button.

Once you click on Brose it will open the window to select the file as shown below.

Select the template with .xml extension and click on open.

After this you click on "Upload" button to upload the template.

Once it will be uploaded you can go to Edit HTML option and then you can edit also according to your choice.

So in this way you can apply a template in very short time to make your website beautiful.

Redirect Your blogger account to your custom website domain

In this post I will show you how you can redirect you blogger to custom domain. In this post I am taking the example of GoDaddy. If you have bought the domain from GoDaddy then we can do the following steps to redirect the blog to custom domain.

First you have to go to Setting and click on "+ Setup a 3rd party URL for your blog" of "Blog Address" option as shown below.

Then specify your custom domain address and click on save. You will get the following screen.

Now copy and paste the name value pair it has been generated for future use. This steps is very important so don't forget to copy and paste the code and value shown below.

Now Log in into your godaddy account and go to following option

Now you will get the screens as shown below. Click on "EXAMPLE.COM" i.e. your custom domain.

Click on DNS Zone File in the next screen as shown below.

Click on "Use classic DNS Manager" option on nxt screen.

You will get a new screen in new tab like this. Here just below the block CNAME(Alias) there is one option to "Quick Add". Click on this option.

Now put the name value pair which was displayed on the blogger site while adding the custom domain in CNAME (Alias Block). Then click on Save Button on top right corner.

After this go to this screen

Then click on EXAMPLE.COM

Then go to Setting tab. and click on "Manage" link of Forwarding Option.

The make the entries as shown below.

Then click on "Edit then Click on Save.

Now go to blogger setting and again put your website link again and clik on save.

This time it will accept this URL and now you can open your website and see the content on your custom domain.

If you are not getting your page then try to clear you cache and then try. It will surely come.

Google Adsense is the main source of getting paid for your blog. Sometime it is not easy to get the Google Adsense account for your blog. Because the Google Adsense has very strict policy for their publisher. But it is not always hard also to have a approved Google Adsense account.

My Story to get Google Adsense Approval

I have applied Seven to Eight time for Google Adsense account but always I was failed to get it. The rejection mail I was getting withing 3-4 hours only.

I was getting the cause from Adsense that it has insufficient content. But I was having 20 blog at that time. So I decided to try by some modification.

So after that I have bought a custom domain from GoDaddy and redirected my blog to that custom domain. After redirecting it, I have applied a very good template for my blog. Then I again applied for Google Adsense .

Again Google has rejected my application by saying that "Invalid Navigation". Then I started testing my web page and found the problem. The problem was that the template was having one issue that when I was clicking on "About Me" link it was showing me a blank page.

Now you can imagine at how much micro level Google is testing our page before approval.

So I corrected it and then I have created a new Gmail Id with the name of my custom domain only and then again applied for the Google Adsense. Then I haven't got any reply from Google in my mail about my application for 3-4 days.

So I tried to Sign In into the Google Adsense Account. I was surprised that I was able to login into Google Adsense account. So my Google Adsense Account has been approved.

So don't worry if you are not getting mail about your application. Just try after 2-3 days to login into Google Adsense. You also might have approved.

So if you also want to get Google Adsense Account in one try then follow these rules in your blog.

1. Number of Posts

Your blog should have at least 20-30 post to get Google Adsense approval. Also each blog should contains at least 500 words in order to get the adsense approval.
If your blog is having lesser post then also you can get the approval but the criteria is that your blog should have high traffic.

To get high traffic you might need to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) your blog. Also you can increase the traffic on your blog by publishing them on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social sites. If the content is less on your blog then Google will reject your application by saying "Insufficient Content".

2. Topics Specific Content

Google is very strict to their policy. So always write the content of your blog on your blog title. Use simple but grammatically strong content. Do not try to include pornographic related content in your blog.

If you do so then Google will reject your application for Google Adsense. Also do not write any content related to hacking. In this case also Google will reject you Adsense application.

3. Do not Copy Paste Content

Do not try to increase your content by just copying and pasting the content from other source or internet. The traffic on your page will increase only when your content is unique.

Always use good template because a good looking website may increase the traffic on your website. Remember always to put the page like About Me, Disclaimer, Contact Us, Privacy Policy.

After applying template you just have to check all the navigation whether all the link on your blog is working or not. If something is not working then do not try to apply for Google Adsense Account.
First fix that navigation issue then only try.

Before applying to Google Adsense your site must be fully functioning. It should not be under maintenance or development.

4. Apply through Root Domain:

Always apply by your blog root URL like www.yourblog.blogspot.com

5. High Traffic on Your Blog
It is always recommended that your side should have at least 250-500 visitor so far. To get high traffic on your website publishing your blog on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social sites groups.

If you are fulfilling the above criteria but still not getting approval from Google Adsense then you try these also. It is sure that you will get the Adsense account easily.

6. Your site should be atleast six months Old.

Google sometimes look at the age of your blog. Your blog should be at least 6 months old. Although it is not true every time. The blog with less that six month old also can get the approval easily.

7. Use custom domain for your blog

By default your blog will use the address or URL as yourblogname.blogspot.com. So what you can do is you can buy a domain name from website like GoDaddy or Big Rock etc and redirect your blogger url to custom domain. Also you create one email id with professional look and then apply for Google Adsense.

In this post I am going to show you how you can get the code for putting Ads on you web page.

Once you login into your Adsense account you will see a message on the top that "Your account is under review".

This means that now you can put the ads code on you page. Once you put the ads code on your web page Google crawler will scan you ads on your website.

Once you put your ads code on you website, you will see a blank area instead of ads. Once crawler will finish scanning your ads then Google will approve your Adsense account completely.

So here you may have a question that how you can get the code from your Adsense account.

So first login into your Adsense account. You will get following screen.

Now click on option "My ads". Then click on "New ad unit" option as shown below.

In the next screen give the name of your ad unit. then select a size. Select the size according to your needs.

Then select "Ad Type" as "Text & display ads".

You can also select the other types as well but this is recommended as the ads with text and display will attract the user.

In the "Text ad style" you can define the css according to you need. You can set the color of background and color of text.

Now click on "Save and get code" button.

Now change your Code Type as "Synchronous". and then copy the code.
